It’s been a while since I last started a charcoal fire, and I was a bit out of practice.

Birthday Trip 3: Up the coast and home
I arrived at Seal Rocks, where I spent a bit of time doing some more long exposure photos from the bluff overlooking the beach. Then I continued north along the bulk of the Oregon coast.
Birthday Trip 2: To the coast and Yachats
Between the RVs on the road, the RVs in the campground, and the general crowds everywhere, I was pretty well done.
μAdventure: Lake Chelan Overnight
Highway 20, aka the North Cascades Highway through the North Cascades National Park has been open since late April. I missed riding it last year and wanted to get it in.
Super-Adventure: My New Neighborhood
I moved recently. Not much of a move, but enough to get me a bit further away from the railroad tracks and downtown. More importantly, it got me some very needed workspace at home. I’ve been exploring the waterfront close to home and often bring my camera.
Tel-Aviv in Winter
Tel-Aviv is more “visiting home” for me than an adventure. But it was a good opportunity for some interesting photography in the north Tel-Aviv neighborhood where I was staying.
Golden Pass 4: Through to Geneva
Griffith the very spoiled Traveling Mountain Lion decided he loves this trip and thinks we can skip all the “adventure” going forward.
Golden Pass 3: Jungfrau Region
From Lauterbrunnen a bus takes you to the first of four cable cars that eventually arrive at the Schilthorn, or as it is more colloquially known “Piz Gloria” the name given to it by the producers of the original “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.”
Golden Pass 2: Lucerne – Interlaken
The Golden Pass Line is three segments, the first of which is the Lucerne-Interlaken “Express.” It’s a fairly modern train that happens to ride on narrow-gauge rails and which is also capable of using a cog wheel for some of the steeper sections.
Golden Pass 1: Seattle-Zurich-Lucerne
My brother Jon and I agreed to meet in Europe for a few days ahead of traveling to Israel on a family visit. We met at the Zurich airport, he arriving by train from Vienna, and I by plane from Frankfurt after a long connection from a Seattle flight.
