You see more as you spend more time in one place just watching. I call this, “peeling back the onion,” and it’s yielded great photos over the years.
I left the coastal road with it’s heavy trucks behind and rode into the rural Canterbury Plain. What started as a bad day turned very, very good with the sun shining and the fresh air blowing through.
Say what you will about hipsters, urban millennials, or however else you choose to define them, they seem to be making this place their own and seem to be doing a better job of improving things than the fossilized “reformers” elsewhere.
The lowly shipping container has become a pretty important element of post-quake Christchurch. They can be made quite beautiful and it almost seems a shame that they will eventually be replaced with something else.
