Had a great early morning at the beach watching and photographing today’s lunar eclipse. I stayed through to the end, when the still partially-eclipsed moon set behind the Santa Monica mountains.

Not all adventures require much of a drive. Or any. Last night’s just required a light-rail train ride to downtown LA, where the passing of original Batman, Adam West, was noted with the batsignal flashing up on City Hall.

Home for the weekend

It’s quiet. Lots of people at Coachella. I don’t much care, but it’s nice to have the neighborhood feel rather abandoned despite the nice weather.

The mountains were yellow, orange and lavender. As I hiked up, I went through all those colors – mostly yellow at my elevation, but some traces of the others as well.
